Discovery Under Bridge
On a quiet Sunday afternoon in South Caddo Parish, a grim discovery was made when a body was found beneath a bridge, initiating an active death investigation.
Response and Investigation
According to the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office, patrol deputies were dispatched to the scene at approximately 3:15 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 21. The call came after two fishermen reported finding a deceased individual under a bridge along Ellerbe Road near Gayle Red Bluff Road.
Caddo Parish Fire District 5 and Caddo deputies responded, confirming the presence of an adult individual and officially pronouncing the person deceased. The identity of the individual is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
Investigators state that the cause and manner of the death have not yet been determined. The area around the bridge has been temporarily secured as investigators conduct a preliminary examination.
