On Wednesday afternoon, law enforcement in Dakota County responded to reports of a shooting incident in Castle Rock Township, located south of Farmington.
According to Sheriff Joe Leko, deputies arrived at the scene at 2:20 p.m. and discovered a woman who had died from a gunshot wound. A man was also found with a gunshot injury to his head.
The injured man was transported to a hospital for treatment and remained alive as of late afternoon, officials reported.
Sheriff Leko noted that other individuals were present in the home at the time of the incident, though they did not witness what occurred. The sheriff's office continues to investigate the circumstances.
