Fatal Shooting Incident in Johannesburg Area
According to reports from South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) News, a violent shooting occurred in the Bekkersdal township located west of Johannesburg, South Africa, claiming the lives of ten individuals.
The South African Police Service announced via social media that a manhunt has been initiated for those responsible for the attack.
Police stated, "It is reported that about 12 unknown suspects in a white kombi and a silver sedan opened fire at tavern patrons and continued to shoot randomly as they fled the scene."
The reason behind the shooting remains unknown at this time, and officials are currently working to determine the identities of those who lost their lives.
Fred Kekana, acting commissioner of Gauteng province where the incident took place, told AFP, "We are still busy obtaining statements. Our national crime and management team has arrived."
A police spokesperson confirmed, "Ten people are dead. We don't have a breakdown of who they are."
