Police Appeal for Information on Abducted Children
Authorities in Edgewater are asking the community to assist in finding two young children who were taken by their mother in what is being treated as a parental abduction. The incident occurred this evening on West Indian River Boulevard.
The mother, Emily St. Clair, is reported to have an active felony warrant related to drug possession. She is also subject to a court order from the Department of Children and Families that forbids her from having any contact with the children.
According to law enforcement, St. Clair followed the children's father to a gas station without his knowledge. When he entered the store, she removed 7-year-old Eislee Kraus and 5-year-old Abel Kraus from his vehicle and left the area.
The children were last observed as passengers in a newer-model Chevrolet SUV. The vehicle was seen traveling south on U.S. Highway 1 from the vicinity of West Indian River Boulevard.
The Edgewater Police Department is urging anyone who might have seen the vehicle or has information about the children's location to contact them without delay.
