In a heartwarming incident on December 24, law enforcement officers in Florida teamed up with two fishermen to rescue a French bulldog found isolated on a tiny island.
Emergency Response on the Ribault River
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office reported receiving a distress call about a dog in need. Upon arrival near Grand Street, deputies spotted the animal, described as wet and trembling, stuck on a small landmass in the Ribault River.
"Without hesitation, the officers waved down two nearby fishermen and asked for help. Within moments, the fishermen used their boat to reach the island safely bring the Frenchie to shore," the agency stated.
The rescued dog was transported to Animal Care & Protective Services for evaluation. Officials noted the canine lacked a microchip for identification.
Happy Outcome for 'Porky'
Nicknamed Porky, the French bulldog quickly found a new home. The sheriff's office shared that Porky "is living his best life and already has a loving new family waiting for him," concluding the rescue with a positive adoption story.
