Fuel Costs Continue Downward Trend
For the second week in a row, gasoline prices in Florida have fallen, with Monday's average reaching $2.74 per gallon for regular fuel. This represents a decrease from the previous week's average of $2.86 per gallon, as reported by the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
Monthly and Yearly Comparisons
Compared to last month, fuel prices in the state have dropped by approximately 13 cents. Over the past year, gas prices in Florida have fluctuated between a low of $2.74 on December 15, 2025, and a high of $3.14 on January 27, 2025.
One year ago, the average price for a gallon of gas in Florida was significantly higher at $3.09, which is 11% above the current level.
National Context
Last week, the average gas price across the United States was $2.90 per gallon. This means Florida's prices were about 5.5% lower than the national average. The national average itself has also decreased from the previous week's figure of $2.94 per gallon.
