Woman Detained Without Bond in Osceola County

A resident of Ft. Myers, Tiffany Griffith, is currently incarcerated at the Osceola County jail with no bond option available. She was arrested on Friday and faces a charge of aggravated child abuse.

Incident at Gaylord Palms Resort

According to law enforcement officials, the event took place at the pool area of the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center. Deputies reported that Griffith became involved in an altercation between her son and a 6-year-old child. Following this confrontation, she is accused of submerging the young child underwater.

The initial police documentation did not provide specific details regarding the nature of the fight or the dunking incident. It remains unclear whether Griffith forcibly held the child beneath the water's surface or if any other adults attempted to intervene during the occurrence.

Local news station WFTV has contacted both the sheriff's office and the detention facility seeking further information about the case.

When approached for comment on Saturday afternoon regarding the arrest, representatives from Gaylord management declined to provide any statement.
