Green Bay Packers Foundation Funds Refugee Empowerment Initiative in Wisconsin

The Green Bay Packers Foundation has provided funding to New Beginnings For Refugees Inc. to assist with its Empowerment Program, as confirmed in a recent community update.

This initiative delivers a series of workshops over one week, designed to prepare refugees with crucial abilities for employment and everyday living. Attendees take part in classes covering occupational safety, money management, and fundamental life competencies, while also cultivating collaboration, analytical thinking, interpersonal abilities, and flexibility.

Additional support includes advice on accessing local services and mastering key employment interview techniques.

"We are honored to partner with the Green Bay Packers Foundation in this important mission," said Yee Leng Xiong, executive director of New Beginnings For Refugees Inc.

Foundation's Longstanding Community Commitment

Established in 1986, the Green Bay Packers Foundation has contributed over $25.7 million to charitable efforts. Each year, foundation trustees evaluate grant requests to direct resources toward effective community projects.

The foundation allocates grants annually to Wisconsin nonprofits, concentrating on endeavors in animal care, health and fitness, civic and community activities, and environmental protection. In the current year, it distributed $1.5 million to 398 groups statewide.

This financial support will strengthen the Empowerment Program, linking refugees with vital tools, instruction, and capabilities to succeed in their new communities.
