Authorities report that a resident of Richmond County is alleged to have opened fire on an Amazon delivery driver's personal vehicle following an incorrect address delivery attempt.

Incident Details

The event occurred on December 14 in Ellerbe, when the seasonal driver, using her own car for deliveries, mistakenly arrived at Sidney Pittman's residence. After being informed it was the wrong location and as she departed, Pittman is accused of shooting at the car, which contained her 16-year-old son.

Pittman has been charged with felonies and is currently released on bond, as per court documentation.

Ongoing Investigation

The Richmond County Sheriff's Office is examining social media posts by Pittman that contain racial content, consulting with the district attorney about potential additional charges.

Amazon expressed relief that no injuries occurred and confirmed their cooperation with the investigation.
