HGTV recently spotlighted Mystic, Connecticut, for its delightful Christmas decorations, ranking it among the nation's most picturesque holiday destinations.
The network's list of beautiful festive displays across the U.S. included this iconic Connecticut village, praising its unique approach to holiday celebrations.
"Beyond the usual holiday light display, these places do things a little differently, embracing the old-fashioned side of Christmas in historic homes and garland-decked downtowns," HGTV said.
Why Mystic Stands Out
According to HGTV, Mystic's appeal during the holidays includes its snow-covered village scenery and rich historical atmosphere.
"The historic oceanside town of Mystic was the atmospheric location of the Hallmark movie Mystic Christmas and features a variety of seasonal activities each holiday in Olde Mistick Village, along with an annual Lighted Boat Parade in which Santa arrives via tugboat on the Mystic River," HGTV said.
Olde Mistick Village transforms into a festive hub each December, filled with Christmas lights and events like Santa meet-ups and holiday light shows.
