On Friday evening, a tragic hit-and-run occurred in the Feltonville area of Philadelphia, resulting in the death of a pedestrian.

The collision took place at approximately 9 p.m. near the intersection of Whitaker and Wyoming avenues.

According to authorities, the victim, a 63-year-old woman, was legally crossing Whitaker Avenue within the designated crosswalk when she was hit by a vehicle.

After the impact, the driver briefly paused to observe the scene before fleeing north on Whitaker Avenue.

The woman was transported to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased. Her name has not been publicly disclosed at this time.

Investigators located an unoccupied 2012 white Infiniti M37 in the vicinity of A and Louden streets, believed to be the vehicle involved. The car has been impounded for examination, but the driver remains at large.

The Crash Investigation Division is actively pursuing the case.
