The Powerball jackpot has increased to an estimated $1.6 billion after no tickets matched all numbers in Saturday's drawing, making Monday's draw the fourth-largest U.S. lottery prize ever.

Powerball Jackpot Climbs to $1.6 Billion After No Saturday Winner

The Powerball jackpot continues its remarkable ascent, reaching new heights after another drawing without a grand prize winner.

Entering Saturday's event, the jackpot was valued at approximately $1.5 billion. However, the winning combination of white balls 4, 5, 28, 52, 69 and red Powerball 20 went unmatched, with a 3x Power Play multiplier in effect.

Consequently, the prize has grown to an estimated $1.6 billion, with a cash option of about $735.3 million. This positions Monday's drawing as the fourth-largest lottery jackpot in United States history. Notably, this marks only the second occasion in Powerball's history where consecutive jackpots have surpassed the $1 billion threshold.

"Powerball is giving players a chance to dream bigger than ever this holiday season," stated Matt Strawn, Powerball Product Group Chair and Iowa Lottery CEO.

Participants from Saturday's draw are advised to verify their tickets thoroughly, as numerous prizes up to $1 million were still distributed. For instance, the Pennsylvania Lottery reported five tickets sold within the state each secured a $50,000 award.

Monday's upcoming draw represents the 46th in the current jackpot sequence, setting a new game record for the most drawings within a single prize cycle. The most recent jackpot victory occurred on September 6.

Should a lucky individual claim the grand prize on Monday, they will have the choice between receiving annuity payments or a single lump sum payment.

The all-time record for a Powerball jackpot remains $2.04 billion, claimed by a solitary ticket holder in California on November 7, 2022.

Official statistics indicate that the general probability of winning any Powerball prize is 1 in 24.9, while the odds of securing the jackpot stand at 1 in 292.2 million.
