Kremlin Confirms Putin's Willingness for Dialogue
On Sunday, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov informed Ria Novosti that Russian President Vladimir Putin is prepared to engage in discussions with French President Emmanuel Macron.
Peskov emphasized that Putin views potential talks positively, provided there exists mutual political will between the parties.
Macron Advocates for Direct Engagement
Earlier on Friday, President Macron suggested that direct communication with Putin could benefit Europe and Ukraine by ensuring their involvement in critical discussions.
"Otherwise, we are discussing among ourselves with negotiators who will negotiate on their own with the Russians. That is not optimal," the French president stated.
Recent Peace Negotiations Progress
Last Sunday and Monday, representatives from Ukraine, the United States, and European nations convened in Berlin to explore peaceful resolutions for Ukraine, nearly four years after the conflict began with Russia.
In Miami, discussions advanced into a new phase over the weekend. U.S. negotiators plan to share outcomes from the Berlin talks with Russian counterparts. Russian negotiator Kirill Dmitriev characterized the initial round of talks as constructive.
