On December 23, a 17-year-old boy from Pinetop passed away following a rollover involving the four-wheeled off-road vehicle he was driving in the Pinetop-Lakeside area.

The Navajo County Sheriff's Office, which is handling the investigation into the crash, provided initial details on the day of the incident. As of December 24, no further updates have been released. Many individuals have shared messages of sympathy on the office's Facebook page.

“Our hearts go out to the family, friends, and loved ones of this young man during this incredibly difficult time,” Sheriff David Clouse stated in the announcement regarding the boy's death. “Any loss of life is tragic, and the loss of a young person is especially heartbreaking. We ask the community to keep the family in their thoughts as they navigate this unimaginable loss.”

According to the sheriff's office, the single-vehicle rollover occurred around 2:19 p.m. on December 23 near the crossroads of Dynamite and Deer Run roads. This location is a lightly populated region with ranches and residences close to the well-known Panorama trailhead.
