Tesla's Surveillance System Exposes Parking Officer's False Citation

Vehicle Security Footage Reveals Parking Violation Discrepancy

In San Diego, California, Vanessa and Donald Pearce had parked their electric vehicle close to a local bakery and purchased a 30-minute parking session. Vanessa came back approximately 20 minutes after to extend the parking duration, only to discover an $85 penalty notice on their car.

The parking official claimed the automobile had been stationed there since the morning hours. However, the Tesla's integrated security camera, known as Sentry Mode, captured footage contradicting this assertion. The recording displayed the officer marking the tire at 12:55 p.m. and promptly issuing the citation, fabricating an overstay violation.

After the couple shared the video online, it rapidly gained widespread attention. Consequently, the San Diego Police Department initiated an internal review, revoked the unjust ticket, and indicated they might examine additional citations from the same officer.
