Texas Animal Officer Rescues Exhausted Beaver from Reservoir

In Texas, an animal protection officer successfully rescued a beaver that had been stuck in a reservoir for multiple days.

Austin Animal Services reported on social media that the officer was dispatched to a water treatment facility in Austin after a beaver was observed swimming in the reservoir.

"When he arrived, it was clear the beaver was exhausted -- there was only a small ledge to rest on, and it had likely been swimming for several days," the post said.

The officer requested help from the Austin Fire Department's Firehouse 14, and firefighters set up a rope hoist to lift the beaver from the water.

The beaver was then taken to Austin Wildlife Rescue to rest, recover, and receive some well-deserved snacks.
