Arrest Made Following CyberTip Reports
An individual from Union County has been taken into custody after authorities looked into activities involving child sexual abuse material in the Waxhaw and Marvin regions.
The arrest occurred after law enforcement received several CyberTips concerning the suspect's online behavior.
Collaborative Investigation Leads to Traffic Stop
The Union County Sheriff’s Office worked with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation upon receiving multiple CyberTips that pointed to Christopher Hahn's involvement in downloading and uploading child sexual exploitation content. This inquiry resulted in Hahn being apprehended during a traffic stop.
At the traffic stop, Hahn was charged with ten counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. He was initially held on a $300,000 bond but has since met release conditions and is no longer in custody.
Authorities stated that Hahn used various social media platforms to view, download, and acquire child sexual abuse material. Investigators are currently examining a phone and a laptop to gather additional evidence in the case.
Officials mentioned that the investigation is ongoing.
