Wildlife Crime at Aberdeen Sports Facility
Law enforcement in Grays Harbor County has issued a public appeal for assistance regarding a serious wildlife violation that occurred over the weekend. A cow elk was discovered deceased at the Bishop Athletic complex near Aberdeen on Saturday, having been unlawfully killed.
According to the Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife Police, they were notified about a dead elk concealed with camouflage netting on a soccer field at the location.
The investigation revealed the animal had been shot in the spinal area and subsequently stabbed. Officials confirmed that none of the meat from the elk was taken by the individual responsible for the killing.
