Blue Ash's Brown Dog Cafe Closes After 27 Years of Operation

After serving the Blue Ash community for nearly three decades, the Brown Dog Cafe has ceased operations at its Summit Park location.

Ownership Announces Retirement

On December 19, the restaurant's ownership shared news of their retirement through a social media announcement. "Ownership has decided to retire at the end of our 10th year," stated the Brown Dog Cafe on Facebook. "We sincerely thank all of our customers for their patronage and friendship throughout the years."

The establishment first opened its doors in 1998 under Mary Swortwood's ownership before being sold to Shawn McCoy in 2003.

Final Arrangements for Customers

A recorded message on the restaurant's main phone line expressed gratitude to patrons and confirmed that any prepaid Christmas packages would remain available for collection on Tuesday, December 23.

Originally located on Pfeiffer Road, the restaurant earned recognition as one of "the nicest restaurants for Blue Ash foodies" according to former food writer Polly Campbell.

In mid-2016, Brown Dog relocated to Summit Park, becoming part of the growing amenities at this Blue Ash destination.
