According to police reports, six separate incidents have been documented, with the latest two happening on the evening of December 18, 2025, along West Monterey and South Ashland avenues.

The suspect, operating under the online pseudonym "Serving Best Deals," contacts sellers through Facebook Marketplace listings that advertise Nike or Jordan athletic footwear.

During arranged meetings, the individual brandishes a firearm to intimidate victims before taking the shoes.

The robberies were recorded at these locations and times:
- West Steuben (1700-block) on December 3, 2025, at 1:30 p.m.
- West Edmaire (1700-block) on December 4, 2025, at 4:15 p.m.
- South Davol (11300-block) on December 10, 2025, at 1:37 p.m.
- South Davol (11300-block) on December 10, 2025, at 3:49 p.m.
- West Monterey (1600-block) on December 18, 2025, at 5:20 p.m.
- South Ashland (11000-block) on December 18, 2025, at 8:17 p.m.
