Court-Appointed Guardian Charged in Child Abuse Case

Guardian Arrested Following Child Abuse Allegations

A guardian appointed by the court is now in custody after facing accusations of child abuse. Police records indicate that the individual was charged on Saturday, shortly after a child was discovered unresponsive at a residence in east Charlotte.

Susan Lee Robinson has been held at the Mecklenburg County Jail since early Saturday morning. Legal documents reveal that she faces charges related to a severe case of child abuse.

The victim, a six-year-old girl who was residing with Robinson, suffered broken arms, scars from restraints, and burns. The home was described as infested with rodents and insects, with visible trash accumulation inside.

Authorities initially treated the case as a death investigation but have since filed charges. Robinson is charged with both felony and misdemeanor child abuse due to the conditions in the home.

Given her court-appointed role, inquiries have been made to DSS regarding a potential investigation. The agency stated they are reviewing the matter and will provide an update on Monday.

Robinson remains in jail without bond, with her first court appearance set for Monday.
