Annual Christmas Meal Event in Dayton
Families facing difficulties will receive a special holiday meal this Christmas in Downtown Dayton. Target Dayton Ministries is organizing the gathering at the Dayton Convention Center.
The convention center announced on social media, "Something big is coming back for Christmas." They added, "We’re glad to continue being the venue for this Christmas tradition and blessing to the local community."
Malik Patterson reported that attendees will begin lining up at 10 a.m., with doors opening at 11 a.m. Many participants are homeless or without family, seeking companionship on Christmas Day.
Cindi Stevens expressed, "I’m very thankful for the last 26 years to get to know the beautiful community of what we would call the poor and homeless community, or the underserved community."
Target Dayton Ministries will also provide family and children services during the event to help people understand the deeper meaning of Christmas. Stevens noted, "There is more to just beyond just opening the Christmas gifts in the morning. They’re real people who need that."
