Discovery in West Phoenix Canal
On the morning of December 21, authorities in Phoenix retrieved a deceased person from a canal located in the western part of the city.
Police were alerted to the scene near 36th and Whitton avenues shortly before 10:20 a.m. after receiving a report concerning the body.
Officers and fire department personnel confirmed the individual had passed away. No identifying details about the person have been disclosed by the police.
"That investigation may take some time. Please stay out of the area while detectives and teams continue the investigation," stated an official communication from the police.
