Immediate Aftermath of Hope Street Shooting
On Saturday, December 13, approximately two hours had passed since a mass shooting occurred on Hope Street. Local residents remained sheltered indoors as heavily-armed tactical police units conducted operations in darkness to search and secure the vicinity. Each police team was accompanied by emergency medical personnel ready to provide assistance.
Emergency Response Coordination
By 6:20 p.m., it became evident that fewer fire rescue transports were required near the Brown University engineering building, where a gunman had wounded two students and injured nine additional individuals. The search for the perpetrator continued, with police establishing cordoned areas that restricted movement between Thayer, Brook, and Hope streets.
