Man Fatally Shot in Brooklyn
Police reported that a 48-year-old man was shot and killed on a street corner in Brooklyn.
The incident took place around 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday at the intersection of Powell Street and Belmont Avenue, near the Seth Low Houses in Brownsville.
Emergency responders transported the victim to Brookdale Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.
This fatal event occurs as the 73rd Precinct in Brooklyn has experienced a significant reduction in homicides, with six recorded this year compared to 20 during the same period in 2024.
