Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash in Osnaburg Township
On December 18, a serious collision involving four vehicles took place at the junction of U.S. Route 30 and Cindell Street SE in Osnaburg Township, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The incident resulted in one fatality. The deceased individual, whose identity remains undisclosed pending confirmation by the Stark County Coroner’s Office, was operating a suspected Ford Escort. At approximately 4:57 p.m., this vehicle was stationary behind an eastbound Chevrolet Silverado driven by Emily Foutty, a 19-year-old from East Canton.
The collision sequence began when an eastbound Ford F-150, driven by 33-year-old David Reed Jr. of Minerva, struck the suspected Escort. This impact forced the Escort into the Silverado. Both the Escort and the Silverado subsequently caught fire.
Debris from the initial crash also struck a westbound Tesla Model Y, operated by Nathaniel Koloniar, 50, of Akron.
Emily Foutty and David Reed Jr. sustained injuries that were not life-threatening and received treatment at the scene. Nathaniel Koloniar reported no injuries. The driver of the suspected Ford Escort was pronounced dead at the location.
Multiple agencies responded to assist, including the Osnaburg, Louisville, and Sandy Creek Fire Departments, Quad Ambulance, Rocky’s Towing, and the Ohio Department of Transportation.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
