Inmate Charged for Plotting Home Invasion Against Mother

A Pennsylvania inmate faces multiple charges after allegedly soliciting another prisoner to rob his mother's home. The plot was reported to authorities before it could be carried out.

Inmate Charged for Plotting Home Invasion Against Mother

On Tuesday, Attorney General Dave Sunday disclosed that a prisoner at Forest County SCI has been formally accused of attempting to recruit a fellow inmate for a violent home invasion targeting his mother's residence. The intended accomplice declined to participate and alerted officials.

Charges Filed Against Keegan Baker

Keegan Baker, aged 28, is facing charges including solicitation for kidnapping, robbery, burglary, aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, and theft by unlawful taking, as confirmed by the Attorney General's Office.

Investigators found that Baker proposed the scheme to obtain $68,000 from the home, promising a portion of the funds to the other inmate.

"This defendant showed a shocking lack of concern for his family's safety by trying to enlist another inmate to harm them," Attorney General Sunday stated. "Such alleged actions are deeply troubling. Due to the swift response from State Police and our office, this plan was stopped, and the individual behind it will be held accountable in court."

According to the investigation, Baker instructed the inmate to use outside contacts to carry out an armed robbery at his mother's house. The solicited inmate informed prison staff, prompting a state police inquiry.

Baker allegedly directed that his mother and stepfather be restrained and tased during the robbery, agreeing to split the $68,000 with any involved parties.

Senior Deputy Attorney General Heather Serrano is handling the prosecution. It is important to note that criminal charges are allegations, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
