"We have lawyers working around the clock to review and make the legally required redactions," the DOJ announced, adding that the information would be disclosed "as soon as possible." However, due to the extensive volume, the agency noted that "this process may take a few more weeks."

Legally, the documents were supposed to be released by last Friday, but only a portion has been made public so far, with many sections heavily edited. This delay has drawn criticism from political figures.
Democratic Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer accused US President Donald Trump of engaging in "a massive coverup." He emphasized, "The question Americans deserve answered is simple: WHAT are they hiding—and WHY?" Schumer further asserted, "Justice delayed is justice denied. Release the files. Follow the law."
