Early Morning Incident on South Side
Pittsburgh authorities reported that a juvenile female is now in custody following a vehicle pursuit that concluded with a crash into a house.
The event began shortly after midnight when officers noticed a car speeding without its headlights illuminated at the junction of East Carson Street and Arlington Avenue.
Police attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the driver refused to pull over, continuing at high speed. Officers subsequently turned off their emergency lights and sirens.
Crash into Residence
The fleeing driver eventually lost control while making a turn from Bradish Street onto South 12th Street. The vehicle first struck a parked car before plowing into the first floor of a nearby home.
Fortunately, the two individuals inside the residence at the time were not harmed.
Law enforcement confirmed the involved automobile had been reported as stolen. The juvenile female operating the vehicle was apprehended. Two additional minors were also present in the car; one was transported to a hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
City inspectors from the Department of Permits, Licenses, and Inspections were dispatched to evaluate structural damage to the property.
An investigation by Pittsburgh Police remains ongoing.
