Body Identified as Missing Individual

Authorities have confirmed that human remains located in Oglethorpe County during the previous month belong to Kenny Jackson Jr., a 21-year-old resident of Acworth who had been reported missing.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation verified the identification to Channel 2 Cobb County Bureau Chief Michele Newell.

Last Known Whereabouts

Jackson was last observed at Brooke Run State Park in Dunwoody. This location is approximately an hour's travel from the site where his body was later found and over 70 miles distant from his residence.

“I feel defeated, I feel sadness and anger. I don’t know where my son is,” Wendy Jackson, his mother, told Newell earlier this month.

She shared her distress regarding his disappearance, emphasizing that he was typically responsive to her communications. “I think that he was possibly meeting someone and something went left. I say that, but there’s other things that run through my head, and I don’t know, I don’t know,” she said.

Investigators have not released information concerning the cause of death at this time.
