Ohio Woman Pleads Guilty in Serial Murder Case Involving Drug Overdoses

An Ohio woman has admitted guilt in a series of fatal incidents where she met men for sexual encounters and then administered drugs to rob them.

Rebecca Auborn from Columbus entered guilty pleas to four murder charges and one count of felonious assault. Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost's office described the situation as a "serial murder case."

Originally facing nearly 30 charges in 2023, Auborn was accused of intentionally causing lethal overdoses in four men and attempting to overdose another individual.

The case came to light after the Central Ohio Human Trafficking Task Force received reports that Auborn was arranging meetings with men for sex in northeast Columbus, then drugging them to facilitate theft of their possessions.

Yost commented on the plea in a statement, saying it "closes a tough case."

"An overwhelming amount of convincing evidence and an airtight investigation conducted by (the Bureau of Criminal Investigation) and Columbus Police left no doubt that a conviction was forthcoming. When law enforcement works together, there's hope for families to secure justice," Yost said.

Sentencing for Auborn is scheduled for February.
