Powerball Jackpot Climbs to Historic Level
Saturday night's Powerball drawing concluded without a jackpot winner, allowing the grand prize to escalate to an estimated $1.6 billion. This amount now ranks as the fourth-largest in the history of the lottery game.
The winning numbers drawn were 4, 5, 28, 52, 69, with the Powerball number 20. The Power Play multiplier was 3x.
While the top prize remains unclaimed, a significant winning ticket was sold. A ticket purchased at Wright's Market on Ventura Boulevard in Oxnard matched five of the numbers, securing a prize of $2,323,527.
The next opportunity to win will be during the drawing scheduled for Monday night.
Historical Context and Recent Wins
The record for the largest Powerball jackpot stands at $2.04 billion, which was won on November 7, 2022. More recently, the jackpot was last hit on September 6 by two tickets sold in Missouri and Texas, which shared a prize of $1.787 billion. Since that date, there have been 43 consecutive drawings without a jackpot winner.
Should someone win the current $1.6 billion jackpot, they will face a choice. The winner can opt for annual payments totaling an estimated $1.5 billion or choose an immediate lump sum payment of $735.3 million.
