Third Arrest Made in Summer Shooting Case
Following an investigation into a fatal incident last summer, a third individual has been formally charged in connection with the shooting death in Brockton.
Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz stated that Victor Oliveira, a 22-year-old resident of Brockton, was arrested at his residence without any issues.
Oliveira was brought before the court on Thursday morning, where he faced a series of serious charges. These include First-Degree Murder, Carrying a Firearm Without a License, Carrying a Loaded Firearm Without a License, Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, Possessing Ammunition Without a Firearm Identification Card, and Discharging a Firearm Within 500 Feet of a Building.
Two other men, Govanni Carapinha, 25, and Marcus Miranda, 21, were charged in August with related offenses and remain detained without the possibility of bail.
Details of the July Incident
Police were called to a residence on Vesey Street in Brockton just before midnight on July 24, 2024. There, they discovered 22-year-old Romualdy Pierre-Charles with a gunshot wound. He was declared deceased at the location.
Security camera recordings showed three people, all wearing dark clothing, approaching the home before shots were fired. Investigators collected 11 projectiles from the victim and multiple shell casings from the area.
During the event, Carapinha sustained a leg wound. Miranda and Oliveira were observed assisting him into a gray Infiniti vehicle and subsequently transporting him to Boston Medical Center for treatment.
Surveillance footage from the hospital confirmed the arrival of the three individuals, with Carapinha being brought in using a wheelchair.
The court has ordered Oliveira to be held without bail. His next court appearance is scheduled for February 12 for a pre-trial conference.
