Early Monday morning, three individuals managed to escape from the DeKalb County Jail.

The sheriff's office has identified the escapees as Stevenson Charles, a murder suspect; Yusuf Minor, an armed robbery suspect; and Naod Yohannes, an arson suspect.

"We take this breach very seriously and are working diligently to ensure these individuals are safely returned to custody as quickly as possible," DeKalb County Sheriff Melody M. Maddox said in a statement.

Search Efforts Underway

Law enforcement agencies have mobilized to locate the fugitives. The sheriff's fugitive unit is collaborating with uniform patrol and other local agencies in the search operation.

The escape was discovered during a routine security check, prompting immediate action from internal security teams.

Public Safety Warning

Authorities have issued a warning that the three escapees may be armed and should be considered dangerous. The public is advised to exercise extreme caution and avoid approaching any of the individuals.

Charges Against Escapees

The fugitives face multiple charges:

  • Naod Yohannes, 25, is charged with simple assault, arson, and unlawful acts of violence in a penal institution.
