Shooting Incident on Atlanta Highway
On Saturday evening, a shooting occurred on Interstate 285 South, resulting in two individuals being injured, according to Atlanta police authorities.
A police spokesperson confirmed that a man and a woman sustained apparent gunshot wounds. Both victims were reported to be alert, conscious, and breathing at the scene. They were subsequently transported to a hospital for medical treatment.
The incident prompted a police investigation that led to the closure of two lanes on the interstate. The Georgia Department of Transportation's camera footage showed emergency vehicles blocking a section of the highway.
The lane closures began shortly after 5 p.m., with GDOT estimating that normal traffic flow would resume by 6 p.m.
