Power Disruption Following Vehicle Incident
On Sunday evening, a vehicle collided with a transmission pole, resulting in a power outage that lasted for multiple hours in the surrounding area.
Anne Nesbit, spokesperson for Key Peninsula Fire, informed The News Tribune that the incident occurred at the intersection of 31st Street Northwest and Key Peninsula Highway. The crash took place around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, with power being restored by 8 a.m. on Monday.
Initial reports on social media suggested the driver fled the scene, but these were later corrected by authorities.
"The occupant had to wait until [the Peninsula Light Company] cut power and then they were safely extricated and not injured," Nesbit told The News Tribune.
Nesbit added that the driver was not arrested, and there was no indication of intoxication at the time of the accident.
