Rising Maritime Tensions in Venezuelan Waters
On Tuesday, Dr. Rebecca Grant, an expert in international relations, appeared on "Good Morning San Diego" to analyze the escalating situation near Venezuela's coastline.
"Putin runs over 600 shadow fleet oil tankers up in the Baltics, Iran runs some as well. And some of these oil tankers have carried cargo for Venezuela, also for Iran. So there's a lot of them pushing back. Of course, who's there, one big customer: China," Dr. Grant stated.
Initially focused on drug interdiction, the efforts have expanded into an oil blockade, involving the seizure of Venezuelan oil tankers.
