Volunteers Gather at White House for 2025 Holiday Preparations
As part of the annual White House Christmas tradition, the executive residence opened its doors to volunteers from across the nation during Thanksgiving week in 2025. First Lady Melania Trump and President Donald Trump hosted the event, which emphasized community spirit and service.
A total of 150 decorators, representing every state and two U.S. territories, traveled to Washington, D.C., to assist with holiday decorations. These individuals, aged between 19 and 76, came from diverse professional and personal backgrounds, showcasing a broad cross-section of American society.
The holiday theme for 2025, "Home Is Where The Heart Is," was designed to highlight values of national unity and collective effort. In addition to decorators, more than 25 volunteer performer groups from 22 states were chosen to provide live musical entertainment throughout the Christmas season.
Among the selected performers was a choir from Boerne, Texas, as reported by The Boerne Star. These groups participated in official White House holiday events and open houses, contributing to the festive atmosphere. The White House Christmas activities, supported by nationwide volunteer involvement, include seasonal tours that remain accessible to the public through scheduled visits.
