Wig Shop Targeted in Multiple Thefts, Losses Exceed $27,000

Repeated Thefts at Hair Solutions Store

Security footage captured the incidents at Strut Hair Solutions in northwest Fresno, where employees discovered the break-in on Saturday morning.

"They tore the whole window down and they put in a device to grab all the hair pieces. We do have bars on the windows, but they had a device that allowed them to grab the wigs through the bars," lead stylist Corrina Lopez stated.

The establishment, which has operated at its current location for approximately a decade, primarily serves individuals undergoing cancer treatment and those with hair loss conditions.

Lopez mentioned the business relocated previously to avoid such criminal activities.

"Glass is everywhere. Whatever wigs they weren't able to take glass is now in them," she added.

Impact on Vulnerable Customers

This was not the first occurrence; surveillance from Monday showed additional wigs being stolen.

Lopez emphasized that the thefts affect more than just the business financially.

"Most of the people that come in, they leave crying because they just see how amazing they look and feel. So, it's very valuable to them. Some people just think 'oh, it's just a wig, it's fashion' but no. To them, that's their life again," Lopez said.

Over 30 wigs were taken in total, with preliminary estimates placing the combined damage and theft costs above $27,000.

The owner has reported both incidents to the Fresno Police Department.

Authorities urge anyone with information about the robberies to contact the Fresno Police Department.
