Grand Jury Indicts Man for Threats Against Governor

A Merrimack County grand jury has formally indicted a 22-year-old Hooksett resident on serious charges related to alleged bomb threats targeting New Hampshire Governor Kelly Ayotte.

Tristan A. Anderson faces multiple counts including attempted harm to government officials, attempted placement of explosives, and threats against government officials, according to New Hampshire Attorney General John M. Formella.

Previous Arrest and Current Status

Anderson was initially taken into custody by New Hampshire State Police in September and charged through criminal complaints. He has remained in preventive detention since that time.

Court documents indicate that Anderson communicated threats through Snapchat messages to his roommate. One message reportedly stated: "I'm going to target the NH Mayor Kelly ayott" and "With my weapon of mass destruction."

The defendant is scheduled to appear in Merrimack County Superior Court for a conference on Thursday, January 8.
